
What to expect from your session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get acquainted, in order to ensure I have all
the relevant information that will enable the space and time we share together to be supportive and to help you settle in, reconnect with your body, and explore what you need at a pace that feels safe.
Session timing (approx.)
Arrival & grounding (5–10 mins): we’ll take a moment to arrive, settle your nervous system, and talk through how you’re feeling today.
Intake & intention (45 mins): a detailed check-in on any relevant medical information, lifestyle and history, what you’d like support with, and what would feel like a good outcome for today.
Treatment time (1hr-1.5 hrs): hands-on bodywork and/or guided somatic practices (e.g., breath, tracking sensations, gentle movement) tailored to your needs on the day.
Integration & aftercare (5–10 mins): we’ll slow down, notice what’s changed, and agree simple next steps or self-care suggestions.
(Your first session includes a longer consultation and a shorter bodywork session. Future sessions begin with a brief check-in, followed by the main bodywork.)
How to prepare
Wear comfortable clothing you can move and breathe easily in.
Avoid rushing: if possible, arrive a few minutes early so your body isn’t in “go mode.”
Eat lightly and hydrate beforehand, and avoid alcohol the day of your session. Ideally come on a a empty stomach.
Bring any relevant notes (injuries, diagnoses, medications, pregnancy, recent surgery) so we can work safely.
If anything feels tender emotionally right now, that’s okay—you don’t need to have the “right words.”
During the session
You’re always in control: we’ll check in regularly and you can pause, adjust, or stop at any time, consent is incredibly important in this work.
Some people feel deep relaxation, warmth/tingling/shaking, emotions, memories, visions, tiredness or energy—all normal responses as the body unwinds.
After your session
You may feel lighter, calmer, or a little spaced/out—give yourself time if you can.
Drink water, keep plans gentle, and note any shifts in sleep, mood, or tension over the next 24–48 hours.
